WEEK 12 » 11|24 (Thanksgiving) «

Buffalo Bills vs. Detroit Lions 12:30 p.m. ET

This one has all the fixins’. “I love that CBS has this game on Thanksgiving,” says Trask. Josh Allen gets the national stage as the Bills aim for the Super Bowl run many expect. Stand- ing in the way is No. 1 overall pick Aidan Hutchinson out of Michigan. And many believe another former No. 1 pick— quarterback Jared Goff —finds a new level of play this season. “I’m fascinated to see how Detroit is this year,” Trask says. “As a Cal Berkeley girl, I’m rooting for Jared Goff. He handled a tremendously difficult situation in the manner [in which] he was replaced in Los Angeles. I’m hoping for his every success.”

WEEK 13 » 12|4 «

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Cincinnati Bengals 4:25 p.m. ET

It’s Joe Burrow and the Bengals hosting Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. These stars have something in common (besides top-tier excellence): They’ve each played in a recent Super Bowl. NFL fans and followers know how hard it is to return to that stage. This December matchup will tell us a lot more about whether Burrow or Mahomes can rally his team to the ultimate goal. “Mahomes has a je ne sais quoi—there’s something very special about him,” Trask says. “You know what I think of when I think of Patrick Mahomes? A coach can look at him and say, ‘I need you to find a way to win this game.’ And I would feel comfortable saying to Joe Burrow the same as to Mahomes: ‘Find a way to win this game.’” But only one star will find a way to win this showdown.
