NFL ON CBS | FOCUS

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers 4:25 p.m. ET

Both the Bucs and the Bengals have made Super Bowl runs in the last two years, and both of their runs picked up speed in December. Will Joe Burrow and Tom Brady have their teams in playoff position? And if so, will they be gunning for that coveted postseason bye week? Brady retired and unretired this off-season, so this could be one of the last opportunities to watch the greatest of all time. “Is it in fact the ultimate pass- ing of the torch?” asks Trask. “We are seeing one of the great- est quarterbacks to play, nearing the end of his career, and we are seeing Burrow, who is a thrilling quarterback to watch. Each of these defenses has their work cut out for them.”

NICKELODEON ANNUAL SLIME-FILLED NFL FUN-FEST

WEEK 16 » 12/25 (Christmas) «

BRADY

Denver Broncos vs. L.A. Rams 4:25 p.m. ET

Here’s the perfect gift for the whole family: Fans get to watch the Broncos’ Russell Wilson against the Rams’ Matthew Stafford . Kids and families also get to see Nickelodeon’s annual slime-filled fun-fest. “What they do with that game on Nick is tremendous,” Trask says. “I will be watching both!”

TALENT SHOW Look for a roster of young superstars to dominate the field this fall.

HERBERT

There’s even more to anticipate about the coming season on CBS. The AFC is home to many of the best young quarterbacks in football, including former MVPs Patrick Mahomes and Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson . There are also likely MVP candidates in Josh Allen and Joe Burrow . And don’t forget Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert , whom Trask praises as “extraordinarily smart.” You’ll also see two of the NFL’s best pass catchers in new places. Tyreek Hill , who won a Super Bowl in Kansas City, is now a Miami Dolphin. “Even if he’s not going to get the ball, someone has to run with him,” says Trask. And Davante Adams has left Green Bay for Las Vegas, where he is reunited with college teammate Derek Carr . If you’re intrigued by divisions with talent, consider an AFC West including Carr, Herbert, Wilson, and Mahomes. It’ll be 18 weeks of greatness—and that doesn’t even include the playoffs. “These are extraordinary matchups,” Trask says. “But so, too, are the other games on CBS every weekend.”
